Payyanur: The Satya Sai Sandesa Yatra will be given a warm reception at Payyanur tomorrow. The yatra, lead by Wellington, ex-minister of Kerala, will reach Payyanur at tomorrow 10:30 am. The Sat-Sang funtion will be at Ayodhya Auditorium.
Payyanur: The all India youth camp for national integration will be held at Payyanur from 24th to 30th October.The camp is jointly conducted by Kerala State Youth Welfare Board and National Youth Project of Govt of India. Language trainings, classes and discussions on national integration and communal harmony and various cultural programmes will be held as part of the camp. Youth rally will be held at different locations like Trikaripur, Cherupuzha,Payyanur, Karivellur and Padanna. The organising committee with T.Govindan MP as its chairman is making all the arrangments for the successful conduction of the camp.

Payyanur: The Syndicate meeting of the Kannur University decided to give permanent affiliation to the new colleges. This includes Jaybees College-Mathamangalam and Gurudeva College-Mathil.
Payyanur: The inauguration of the renovated Juma Masjid at Ramanthali will be held today. Panakkad Shihab Tangal will inaugurate the masjid and Cherkalam Abdulla, the minister for local administratiion will also attend the function.
Payyanur: Navarathri Festival will be celbrated at Jyothisadanam,Payyanur with various functions. Ashtami Pooja will be held on the evening of 13th October, Navami Pooja and Deeparadhana on 14th and Dashami pooja and Vidyarambham will be held on 15th October.

Payyanur: TV Rajesh, a native of Payyanur has been elected as the new secretary of SFI's Kerala state committee. Rajesh, an LLB student at Thriuvananthapuram, is a native of Vilayancode near Payyanur. The election of Rajesh as SFI secretary has brought one more Payyanurian as the leader of CPM's organisations. CKP Padmanabhan, a native of Kunhimangalam, is already the state secretary of Karshaka Sangham and PK Sreemathi, MLA of Payyanur is the state secretary of the Janadhipatya Mahila Association- the women's wing of CPM.
