Paravanthatta Udayapuram Festival

Payyanur: The annual festival of Paravanthatta Udayapuram temple will be held from 20th to 23rd of December. Theyyams like Vishnumoorthi, Pulikandan, Pulimaran, Kurathi, Kundor Chamundi, Pulloor Kali, Raktachamundi, Pullikkarinkali will be performed during the four day long festival. Various cultural events will also be conducted.

Pariyaram: Good Response For the Medical Camp

Pariyaram: The free medical camp without any OP/IP charges started on 5th December. The camp received a good response in the first day itself. About 500 patients visited the camp on the first day. The service of 250 doctors will be available in various disciplines including super-specialty departments like Neurology, Neuro- surgery, physical medicine etc. The time duration of the camp will be from 8 am to 1 pm daily. Free transportation from the bus-stop to the Hospital complex is also arranged for the patients. The canteen started functioning from yesterday. The canteen is now operated by a private agency.

Pariyaram: SFI and DYFI conduct protests

Kannur: SFI and DYFI conducted protest marches against the government decision to handover the Pariyaram Medical College to the co-operative society. DYFI conducted a protest march from Pilathara to Pariyaram. James Mathew inaugurated the march. Police stopped the march near the college gate. SFI conducted protest march to the Collectorate for the same issue.

University Festival at Payyanur

Payyanur: The Kannur University Youth Festival will be conducted from 4th to 6th January 2002 at Payyanur.

VK Priya Secures First Rank

Payyanur: VK Priya of Payyanur College secured first rank in the M.Sc (Mathematics) examination of Kannur Univesity. Priya is the daughter of VK Madhavan Namboothri(teacher SVUPS Muthathi) and Devaki Antarjanam. Priya had secured first rank for the BSc also. Payyanur Dot Com congratulated Priya.
