Kannur University To Start IT Education Centre At Payyanur

Payyanur:Kannur Univerisity has decided to open new IT Education Centres at Payyanur and Kannur. MSc in Computer Science will be offered at this new centre which will be directly under the university. Total 70 seats will be available at Payyanur Centre. The exact site for the IT Education Centre is not yet finalised. The last date for applying is 8th July and the entrance exam will be held at Kannur on 28th of this month. The fee structre for the course is as follows: Admission Fee-Rs.25,000, Caution Deposit: Rs.5,000, Affiliation Fee-Rs.5,000 and a course fee of Rs.3,000 per semester.


Pariyaram: No Impact Of Doctors' Union's Non-Cooperation

Payyanur: It is reported that the doctors' union's strke by non-cooperative measures did not affect the normal functioning of the hosptial. The number of patients in the outpatient section of Pariyaram Medical College has increased in a large scale in the recent days. To avoid delay in the registration process,separate OP registration counter has been opened for the super-speciality sections. Hospital authoririties also informed that they have received the modern operation tables from hyderabad and will be functional in the coming days.

Mother & Two Children Found Dead Inside The Well

Payyanur: A young mother and her two children found dead inside a well in their own compound at Kunhimangalam. M.Rehmath(28) of Andam Kovval in Kunhimangalam and her two children Razwana(8), Farzana(4) found dead inside the well on wednesday morning.It is beleived that the mother put the children into the well first and then jumped herself to death. She was undergoing treatment for mental disorder. The dead bodies were recoverd by the Fire Force of Payyanur. Rehmath's husband, Hamza Maloor is employed in Dubai.

Foot & Mouth Disease In Kunnaru

Payyanur: Cases of foot and mouth disease have been reported from Kunnaru and Karamuttam areas of Ramanthali Panchayath. A few cows have already died due to this disease which is known as "kulambu rogam". Farmers complains that no action is taken from the authorities to prevent the disease in this area where as medical teams are deployed in nearby panchayths.


Badari Prasad Namboothri-New Ravalji For Badareenath

Payyanur: Badari Prasad Namboothri(27) took charge as the new ravalji(chief priest) of Badareenath temple, the famous pilgrim centre of Himalaya. He belongs to the Vadakkini Palakkayil illam of Payyanur. He took charge from his predecessor Vishnu Namboothiri (from Pilathara).


Pariyaram: Doctors' Union Again For Strike

Payyanur: Amsta, the organisation of doctors of Pariyaram Medical College announced that it will strike from 5th July against the managment's decision to extend the outpatient timings. Pariyaram Medical College is in the path of progress after bringing it back to the co-operative sector. The decision to start the strike by a group of doctors at this moment will defenitely interrupt the progress of the institution.

Kerala Mappila Kala Academy

Payyanur: The artistes of Mappila art forms formed a new organisation to promote the rich mappila arts. The new organisation called Kerala Mappila Kala Academy has PH Abdulla Master(president),K.Rafeeq(Gen Secretary) and Azeez Thayineri (treasurer) as its state organisers.


Pariyaram Medical College: OP Timing Extended

Payyanur: The timings of the outpatient section of Pariyaram Medical College will be extended from today. The new OP timings will be from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The registration of the new patients will be upto 1:30 pm only- Hospital authorities informed.

New Direcotr Board For Pariyaram Medical College

Payyanur: A new diector board will take charge of Pariyaram Medical College administration. Since only 13 people filed their nominations for the director board election which is scheduled on 11th July until the dealine ,it is confirmed that all of them will be elected unopposed. The director board will consists of MV Raghavan, the minister for co-operation, K.Sudhakran, minister for forests, E.Ahmed MP, CT Ahmed Ali MLA, KC Venugopal MLA,KC Kadambooran, Patyam Rajan, C.Janardanan,NA Muhammad, PP Lakshmanan,MP Saju,CP Moosankutty and P Muhamad Ali.
