Peringome: In a family conflict, 42 year old brother was killed by his elder brother at Njekli near Padiyotuchal.
Shri Raju (42) son of Shri Alunkal Gopalan was beaten up and killed by his elder brother Shri Pushkaran (47) on Onam day at about 5.30 pm. Shri Pushkaran is in Police Custody.
Raju and Pushkaran was not in good terms for quite some time. It is said that on Friday, Raju went to the house of Pushkaran and created unwanted scenes. Raju was beaten up by Pushkaran at his neck and died instantly.
The wives of Raju and Pushkaran are sisters.
Payyanur: The newly reorganised KPCC will be having two faces from Payyanur as the General Secretaries. Sri. KP Kunhikannan and Sri. MK Raghavan are the new General Secretaries. Kunhikkannan was holding the same post in the old committee also while Raghavan was serving as the joint secretary.

The Mangalore-Kozhikode Link Express was stopped at Payyanur Railway Station and had a thorough check up under the supervision of the Payyanur C.I. Safar Ali Khan based on bomb hoax.
The search was conducted based on an anonymous telephone call received by Badakara Railway Station informing that a Bomb has been kept in Mangalore-Kozhikode Link Express.
The train was also checked by the dog squad at Kannur and found that it was a hoax.
