Payyanur: Foundation Stone for the Kotti Railway Over Bridge would be laid within one month as per Shri T. Govindan, MP. Mr. Govindan said that Railway has already approved this project and the construction works would be commenced after this rainy season.
The land acquisition for the Over Bridge and approach road would be completed soon under the supervision of the Thahasildar of National Highway Division. The construction works of the Over Bridge would be started only once the land acquisition for the approach road is completed.
The Over Bridge would be constructed near to the Warehousing Corporation Building to reach the Olavara Bridge. The total cost is estimated as 8 crore Rupees.

Payyanur: The Kerala State Government approved the construction of Thavam, Pappinisseri and Vengara Railway Over Bridges at a total cost of 9.9 crores. The government also approved the upgradation of the road from Eripuram to Ezhimala Navika Academy to National Highway status.
The feasibility study and project report to this effect was prepared by TISCO. The study was conducted at a cost of 3 lakh Rupees. The project is as a part of meeting the basic necessities of Ezhimala Naval Academy.
With the support of World Bank, Valapattanam-Pazhayangadi-Pilathara Road also will be upgraded to National Highway status. Pazhayangadi-Muttam-Palakkode Road will be expanded upto Naval Academy. For the over bridge at Vengara, the Railway has to provide technical approval.
Anandatheertha Memorial Building Still Incomplete:
Payyanur: The Memorial Building of Swami Anandatheertha, who built schools for the Harijans and initiated a revolution in this regard in North Malabar is still lying incomplete. The Memorial building works were started six years back near the Gandhi Mango Tree at the Sree Narayana Vidyalaya started by Swami Anandatheertha,
It was on 26th November, 1996 the then Chief Minister of Kerala, E.K. Nayanar laid the foundation stone of Anandatheertha Memorial Building. Research Library, Social Activitity Training Center, To provide facility to know more about Mahadmaji and Narayana Guru, Hostel facility for Sree Narayana Vidyalaya are the main concepts for starting the Anandatheertha Memorial Building.
The works for the first floor is completed and the concrete works for the second floor also completed. 20 lakhs of rupees were spent so far and it is expected that additional 10 lakhs rupees would be required to complete the building.

Payyanur: Colurful functions have been arranged at Payyanur by various organisations and temples for the Sreekrishna Jayanthi (ashtami rohini) celebrations. A coulourful procession (shobha yatra) will be held at Payyanur organised by the Balagokulam units. The procession will begin at 3 pm today from the Muthappan temple and Perumba and will conclude at Subrahmanya Swami temple. Various programs are arranged at Annur and Thuluvannur Mahavishnu Temples.

Payyanur: The Payyanur Police raided an illegal and unlicensed Revolver Manufacturing unit at Chengalam near Kandondhar and confiscated one finished Revolver and 2 nearly finished Revolvers. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Payyanur CI Mr. M.J. Sojan.
The unlicensed Revolver Manufacturing unit was functioning at an adjacent shed of Vadakke Veetil Balakrishnan’s house at Changalam. The police also confiscated materials for manufacturing Revolvers. Mr. Balakrishnan fled the scene when the police raided his house.
