CO-OP MEDICAL COLLEGE CAN CONDUCT POSTMORTUM AND OTHER LEGAL CASES
Payyanur: There will not be any problems for conducting postmortums, issuing medical and legal certificates from the Pariyaram Medical College even after putting it under the co-op sector, said Dr.Chandran, the new principal of the institution. He expressed confidence in getting IMC's approval for the college and its courses. He was talking to our special correspondent. Dr.Chandran, who is a forencic expert, is on deputation from Thrissur Medical College. He is a native of Trichambaram in Taliparamba though settled in Ernakulam. He is also a medico-legal expert known all over the state.

PARIYARAM MEDICAL COLLEGE TO GET MORE DOCTORS
Pariyaram: Sixty more doctors have been appointed at Pariyaram Medical College to fulfill the requirements of Indian Medical Council to get permanent recognition for the institution. 32 doctors have already taken charge and the others are expected to join shortly. These doctors are appointed on deputation from other medical colleges in the state.

NEW PRINCIPAL FOR PARIYARAM MEDICAL COLLEGE
Payyanur: Dr. M.R.Chandran is the new principal of the college. Dr.Chandran who is also a forensic expert is on deputation from Thrissur Medical College. Dr.PK Gangadharan Nair is appointed as the Administrative Director of the institution.

WARM RECEPTION
Payyanur: A warm reception was given to the procession carrying the carved granite pillars which are being taken Guruvayoor Sreekrishna Temple from Karkala in Karnataka. The reception was held at Perumba on the National Highway. A large number of devotees attended the function to greet the pillars which will be used for the reconstruction of the Guruvayoor temple.

POLICE PROTECTION FOR THE PVT HOSPITAL CONTINUES
Payyanur: The Police protection provided to the private hospital at Payyanur owned by Dr. AV Govindan is still continuing. The protection was given after the death of a patient admitted there for delivery. Praseetha (22) of Pilicode died at Pariyaram Medical College due to bleeding. She was admitted in the hospital of Dr.Govindan for delivery. After delivering a baby girl, Praseetha's condition became worse due to bleeding and was referred to Pariyaram MC hospital where she died later. Her relatives complained that the death was due to the negligence from the side of the doctor and the hospital. Dr.Govindan requested for police protection fearing violence against hospital similar to the incident at BKM hospital last year.
