Payyanur: 52 new route permits are likely to be issued by the transport authorities in the Kannur-Payyanur route. Among these 52 routes, 29 will be Kannur-Thaliparamba-Payyanur and 23 will be Kannur-Pazhayangadi-Payyanur. This is aprat from the new services to be started by KSRTC.
Payyanur: M.Naryanankutty has been nominated as the chiarman of Kerala Garments. Kerala Garments, a sister concern of Hanveev, is having an independent administration for the first time. Narayanankutty, known as MNs in the firends' circle was the UDF candidate of Payyanur in the last assembly elections. He also served as DCC secretary and is currently president of the Urban Co-op Bank at Pilathara. KP Noorudeen, the former minister for forests, has been nominated as the chairman of Rural Development Board. Nooruddeen, the executive member of KPCC is also the chairman of Payyanur Co-op Town Bank.

Payyanur: The Payyanur Area convention of KSYF (Kerala Socialist Youth Federation), the youth wing of CMP , elected the new area committee. P Surendran(president), PP Hareesh(vice presi), TP Sunil Kumar (Secretary), KV Jayakrishnan and EC Sudheesh(joint secretarties) are the new office bearers. TV Gopalan inaugurated the convention and KM Balan presided over.
Kannur: A new police team called Highway Police started their operation all over the state. There will be teams of highway police i Kannur Range (who is responsible for the highway patrol) based at the police stations of Kumbala, Chandera, Kannur Town, Payyoli and Nallalam. Payyanur area will be covered by the Chandera Highway Police. Each team is equipped with two Toyota Qualis vehicles which has inbuilt facility of lockup. The operational range of Chandera team is from Poynachi to Pariyaram.

Payyanur: Vellur Javahar Vayanasala is planning to conduct a poetry writing competition. Those who are interested to participate should submit their details to the Convenor, Onaghosha Committee, Javahar Vayanasala and Library, P.O. Vellur on or before 17th August, 2002.
Payyanur: A new division for child and mother care will be opened at Pariyaram Medical College. The new division will be opening by adding more facilities in the exisiting gyanaecolgoy department. The works of the new ward for cancer patienst are almost completed. A separate ward will be opened for the treatment of burns. The Sahakaran Hridayalaya will start functioning by October. The authorities informed that the opening of Hridayalaya is postponed to October due the delay in the delivery modern equipments from abroad. These decisions were taken at the meeting of board of directors held yesterday at Pariyaram.
