Payyanur: Chief Minister AK Antony asked every keralite to forget all the political differences and work together for the betterment of the state. He was inaugurating the newly sanctioned Nursing College at Pariyaram Medical College. He expressed his extreme satifaction on MV Raghavan and T.Govindan MP working together for the development of Pariyaram MC. Chief Minister also stated that his government will see that Kerala acquires self sufficiency in providing professional education. After five years no candidate will have to seek admission outside Kerla for professional studies.
MV Raghavan, the miniser for co-operation and the chairman of the Pariyaram Medical College presided over the function. K.Sudhakaran-the minister for forests, T.Govindan-MP, KC Joseph-MLA, CT Ahmed Ali-MLA, KC Venugopal-MLA, KC Kadambooran, Dr.S Hariharan-principal of Pariyaram MC also addressed the function.
Pariyaram: The super speciality department in Nephrology will be available at Pariyaram Medical College from today onwards. Dr. Sathyanathan will be the head of the Nephrology department. The modern dialysis facility also will start functioning today. Outpatient facility will be available on thursdays and sundays in this department.

Payyanur:Kannur University started its MA Music course at Bhaaskara campus at Kaithapram in association with Bhaaskara. Dr. Omanakutty inaugurated the course at a function held at Bhaaskara. Dr. PK Rajan, the vice chancellor of Kannur University presided over the function. VP Dhananjayan the managing trustee of Bhaaskara and Dr. KH Subrahmanyan, the registrar of the university also attended.
Pariyaram: Chief Minister AK Antony will inaugurate the new Nursing College at Pariyaram Medical College on 7th December,2002. He will also inaugurate the new MK Ummerkoya Memorial Ayurveda College at Parassinikadavu on the same day.
Karivellur: The kaliyattam festival of Kodakkad Panayakkatu Bhagavathy temple will be celebrated from 16th to 19th of December 2002. The theyyams -Panayakkatu Bhagavathi, Pulikkandan, Pulli Pullon, Pullikkorumakan, Raktha Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi will be performed everyday during the kaliyattam.

Payyanur: The Kerala state junior volleyball championship will be held at Pilathara from 21st to 25th December 2002.
Payyanur: The Kaliyattam of Kokkanisseri Kannangat Bhagavathy Temple will be celebrated from 7th to 10th December2002. Kokkanisseri Kannangat Temple is one of the 11 temples of Maniyani (Yadavas) community. Theyyams like Kannangat bhagavathy (the mein deity), Puthiya Pothi,Madayil Chamundi,Vishnumoorthi and Kundor Chamundi will be performed during the kaliyattam. Various cultural programs are also arranged as part of the celebrations. Ganamela by Cochin Golden Beats at 10 pm on 7th Dec, Cinematic Dance by Super Voice Ramanthali and Comacs Payyanur at 10pm on 8th Dec are some of the programs arranged. The "kazcha Varavu" will be held on 9th night from Nikkunnath Kalari to the Kannangat Temple.

Payyanur: The Kerala High Court today stated that the police action against the publisher of the book "Before the Honourable Court" which contains statements against Gandhiji , right and appropriate. The alleged book was published in 1998 and criminal proceedings were taken against its publisher Satyavratan alias Jayaprakash. Jayaprakash approached the highcourt demanding compensation from the police. This bbok was a malayalam translation of the notorous book "May It Please Your Honour" written by Gopal Godse, the brother of Gandhiji's assasin Nathuram Godse.
