Payyanur: Five persons were injured in the fighting between CPM and Janatadal activists at Edattummal near Trikaripur today. The onam celebrations conducted by Subhash Sports Club (dominated by Dal workers) and RedStar Club(CPM dominated) resulted in the fighting. The fighting was followed by stoning at the houses of the party workers. The injured were admitted to BKM hospital Payyanru and Community health centre Trikaripur.

Payyanur: The deadbody of the muslim woman which was found near a culvert in Vaipiriyam near Mathil is not yet identifed. Police couldnt make any progress in identifying the victim or the murderers. The murdered woman is about 60year old.
