Payyanur: The special branch police submitted their inquiry report against the sub-registrar of Payyanur in connection with the atrocities againt the registrar's office during the CPM protest. The sub-registrar's office and the neighboring office of the police circle inspector were attacked and damaged by the CPM workers on 17th of March,2003. It is reported that eventhough the sub-registrar was present inside his office during the incident he didnot report it to the authorities. The circle inspector of police has already reported this inaction of this official to the district collector. Now the crime branch police also submitted their report which also agree with the CI's findings.
Payyanur: The bridge at puthiyapuzha connecting Ramanthali and Kunhimangalam panchayaths is going to be a reality soon. The concerned authorities submitted the estimate of Rs 1 Crore and 35 lakhs and the associated survey report to the government.

Payyanur: T I Madhusoodanan, the vice chairman of Payyanur Municipal council has been elected as the new vice president of the DYFI Kerala state committee. He was elected at the state conference of the organisation concluded at Kollam yesterday.
Payyanur: A Van going from Shimoga to Kozhikode lost its control near KSRTC Bus Stand at Perumba and steered into a group of people waiting for Bus killing three and injuring five.
Shri MV Kunhappan of Swaraj Dairy Farm of Vellur, Students of Trikkaripur Engineering College at Cheemeni Ms. Sithara Rajan of Azhikode and Ms. Reshma daughter of Pannakkada Veetil Bhaskaran of Pattuvam are identified as killed.
Shri Sajeesh (19) who got injured seriously, Students of Trikkaripur Engineering College at Cheemeni Ms. U.K. Silna of Pariyaram Embattu, Ms. Jaseela Mohammed of Velayamkode and Shri K. Lakshmanan, loading labourer of Perumba are admitted at Pariyaram Medical College and Shri Pradeep of Vadasseri has been admitted at B.K.M. Hospital. Shri Sajeesh is son of Shri MV Kunhappan who was killed in the accident.
Shri MV Kunhappan alongwith his son Sajeesh came to see off his daughter who got married 2 weeks back and leaving to Mumbai with her husband.

Payyanur: Vanaja (40) wife of Kambrath Sarangdharan of Onakkunnu, Karivellur died by consuming poison and his daughter Varsha (18) has been admitted at Pariyaram Medical College on a serious condition.
Shiju and Vijesh are brothers of Varsha.
Hotel Owner Committed Suicide
Payyanur: Shri Koliyadan Gangadharan (39) owner of Highway Palace Hotel at Perumba committed suicide by hanging himself inside the store room of the hotel. Shri Koliyadan Ganghadharan hails from Pothamkandam near Peringome.
