FACE TO FACE DISCUSSION WITH CANDIDATES
Payyanur: The Payyanur Peoples Forum is organising a face to face discussion with the candidates of Payyanur Constituency. People should send their questions on or before Wednesday, 25th April, 2001 to the General Secretary, Payyanur Pourasamithi, Teepees Buildings, N.C.C. Road, Payyanur.
The candidates will be requested to answer the questions in a face to face meeting with the help of a moderator.

ELECTRICITY AND TELEPHONE LINES DISCONNECTED
Mathil: Due to heavy rains, electricity and telephone connections were disconnected at Mathil and surrounding villages. It is reported that some roof tiles of Mathil Government High School has been taken away by heavy wind.
POORAKKALI COMPETITION, FIRST PRIZE FOR NELLIKKATHURUTHI KAZHAKAM
Annur: In the North Malabar Poorakkali competition, conducted by Thalayanneri Poomala Bhagavathi Kavu Poorakkali Sangh, the first prize was won by Nellikkathuruthi Kazhakam.
About 15 Poorakkali Sangh took part in the competition and the performance of each Sangh was worth praising.
The famous Poorakkali Panicker of Annur, Shri Thayambath Kunhikannan inaugurated the competition by lighting the traditional lamp.
The second prize gone to Pilikkode Vengakottu Bhagavathi Temple Sangh and the third prize gone to Karivellur Vaniyillyam Someswari Temple Sangh. Shri Thampan Panicker of Vengakottu Sangh has been selected as the best singer.
The Cash award for the winners was given away by Ramanthali Krishnan Panicker.
