Payyanur: The city centre of Pariyaram Medical College started functioning at Payyanur yesterday. The city centre is a OP unit of the medical college. The city centre is located on the main road near Chamber of Commerce builiding. Co-operation minister and president of Pariyarm Medical College Managing Commitee, MV Raghavan inaugurated the city centre at a function held at Payyanur yesterday. NA Mohammed, the director board member of the medical college presided over the meeting. T.Govindan MP inaugurated the phramacy and diagnostic unit. P.Balan Master president of Kannur Dist Co-op Bank, KV Babu-standing commitee chairman of Municipality also attended the function.
The city centre is aimed at providing the best medical services to the public at their convenience. The centre will have OP section functiong daily from 3 pm to 8 pm and will have specialists from all the departments. The patients who requires specialised treatment will be referred to the Pariyaram hospital. The city centre is also equipped with pharmacy and laboratories. The Medical College is planning to set up its city centers at major towns of Kannur and Kasargode districts and Payyanur centre is the first such unit.
