Payyanur: The bypass road will be closed down for traffic from tomorrow for the maintanance works. The road will be closed for four months from 1st October 2003. Various measures have been taken by the municipality to facilitate easy and smooth traffice during this period. No autorickshaw parking will be allowed on the main road from central bazar to the busstand. Alternate parking facility has been arranged for the autorickshaws in the municipal office compound. Gandhi Maidan will be opened for the parking of private vehicles. All the way-side vendors will be removed from the footpaths and no storage of items will be allowed on the footpaths. One-way system has to be followed strictly wherever it is imposed and strong action will be taken against the violatiors. Overtaking has been strictly prohibited on the main road.
