Minister Inaugurates Payyanur Tourism Project
Payyanur: KV Thomas, the minister for tourism, inaugurated the tourism project being implemented at Payyanur by the district tourism promotion council. He told that a master plan is getting ready for the massive tourism development of Kannur district. PK Sreemathi Teacher MLA presided over the function held at Uliyathukadavu. The minister told that high importance is given for the Uliyathukadavu being a major spot in the historic freedom struggel. The estimated cost of the first phase of the project is Rs.22.5 lakhs. The project includes a memrial of the great uppusatyagraha, park,information centre, internet facilitiy,exhibition hall, dormitories,house boat service etc.
