Pariyaram: Sri. O. Rajagopal, the union minister for urban development offered full support of the central government towards the development of Pariyaram Medical College. He was inaugurating the newly constructed water treatment plant at Pariyaram Medical College this morning. He also stated that Hudco will consider the request to decrease the interest on the loan of Rs.45 Crores availed by the medical college. He praised the managment of the medical college who worked hard overcoming all the hurdles and crisis to bring the institution to this level. MV Raghavan, the minister for co-operation and the Chairman of the medical college presided over the function. T.Govindan MP, E.Ahmed MP, CT Ahmed Ali MLA, CK Padmanabhan, P.Balan Master, PP Karunakaran Master, PP Mukundan, KC Kadambooran also addressed the function.
The plant has been built at an estimated cost of Rs.3.8 crores. Water has been brought to the campus from Vannathikadavu which is about 8 KM away from the plant. The plant has a capacity of 1.91 million liters and five tanks with a capcity of 2 million litres are also part of the plant. The plan will put an end to the water scarcity during the summer.
