Payyanur: The Garbage Treatment Plant setup at Moorikkovval on the Payyanur-Annur Road will be inaugurated tomorrow. The plant has been constructed under the people's plan project of Payyanur Municipality. The biological garbages collected from the municipal area will be converted into bio-fertilizers using earth-worms of certain species. The organisers claimed that this is the first project of this kind in Kerala . The bio-fertilizer made of this kind has been named as "Sasyapoorna". As per the plan, the bio-degradable wastes and the solid wastes like plastics will be collected in separate bagas and will be taken to the plant. The plant has been setup by a committee with Kallidil Krishna Poduval as chairmanand KP Sahadevan as convenor along with Public Health Forum. The garbage treatment plant and the ongoing clean-city project are expected to bring cleanliness to Payyanur Town.
