Kannur: A new institution to promote the karnatic music , "the Swathi Thirunal Kalakendra" will start functioning from january,2002, said the director of th kendra and noted lyricist and musician Kaithpram Damodaran Namboothiri. He told the mission of this institution is to give training and orinetation to talented students in Karnatic music. Library, research centre, concerts,interviews, competitions,music therapy will be some of the features of this institution, he told.
