ASSAULT ON SWAMI GOPLAJI: ONE ARRESTED
Payyanur: Police arrested one person in association with the attack on Swami Goplalji. There are two more convicts to be arrested in this case. All the three are said to be CPI-M workers according to the Police. Swami Gopalji's ashramam is situated at Paruthikadu ,near Kunnaruin Ramanthali Panchayath, which is notorious for making and selling of illicit liquor. Swami has conducted many campaigns against illicit liquor in this area which has provoked the concerned lobby. The ashramam was attacked and destroyed partially two days back when Gopalji was not present. But later another gang attacked the ashramam again and also tried to murder him .Many organisations and political parties have condemned the assault on Gopalji.
